Moment Thief

"For in every adult there dwells the child that was, and in every child there lies the adult that will be."
~John Connolly, The Book of Lost Things

A girl who knows wide open spaces

yet is gripped by the small details.

Who can't escape the beauty she sees again and again.

A dirt lover,

A moment thief.

She sees the world in color

But always appreciates the lack of
while knowing its beauty still.

She undercovers what she can

While trying to live a creative life

And blooming where she's planted.

Potter and the Clay

And yet, O Lord, you are our Father.
We are the clay, and you are the potter.
We all are formed by your hand.
~Isaiah 64:8

I am a lump of clay.

Still being pressed and formed.

Stretched and rounded in this life.

My rough edges continuously made smooth.

Focus, care and a gentle touch.

Serene both inside and out.

As I pray tonight...

I ask for more work on this lump of clay.
